a) What is the area of triangle ABQ?
6) What is the area of triangle ABP?
c) Find the area of triangle ABC
6. Draw an equilateral triangle of perimeter 10 cm.
Answer
1.Lett be the price of a table and c be the price of a chair. From the question we have, t + 2c = 4000…(1)
t + 5c = 7000 … (2)
a) (2) – (1) -> 3c = 3000
c = 1000
Thus, the price of a chair = 1000 rupees
b) (1) -> t + 2 * 1000 = 4000
t = 4000 – 2000 = 2000
Thus, the price of a table = 2000 rupees
2. Let m and n be the numbers. From the question we have,
m + n = 19 … (1)
m – n = 5 (2)
(1) + (2) -> 2m = 24
m = 12
(1) -> 12 + n = 19
n = 19 – 12 = 7
Thus, the numbers are 12 and 7.
3. a) Area of the large square = 2x area of the small square = 2 x 2 = 4c cm2
b) Area (side)2
(side)^ 2 = 4
side √4 = 2cm
4. a) 9= 25-16
b) 13=49-36
9. a) Area of ∆ ABQ = Area of ∆ BPQ = 10c m ^ 2
b) Area of ∆ABP = Area of∆ ABQ + Area of ∆ BPQ = 10 + 10 = 20cm ^ 2
c) Area of∆ ABC = 2 × Area of ∆ABP
= 2 x 20 = 40cm ^ 2
